The Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association, commonly known as TACA, is a non-profit organization that was founded by Jim Cartwright in 1983. His vision for TACA was to promote education, self awareness and leadership skills, through all youth sports as well as providing many needs for student athletes that were not being met. Cartwright's vision has become a reality that has been met over the years through his efforts and every individual who has been a part of TACA.
TACA helps youth sports organizations keep sports fun, safe and accessible, by offering resources focused on 'the game", and promotes positive youth development. Since 1983 TACA has impacted the lives of thousands of students, right here across the state of Tennessee. By offering annual football, basketball and volleyball games plus All Star and Exhibition Games our student athletes and coaches have been able to showcase their talents. Through which many of these students have been offered college sports scholarships, helping them reach their full potential. In addition to these opportunities, TACA also coordinates programs and initiatives that address the importance of proper coaching techniques, administration and drug awareness for their student athletes, to insure our kids get the best. Our goal is to be more innovative, offer more sports, improve coaching technique, and show our kids their full potential. TACA also steps up to the plate when it comes to having safe and accessible places to play as well as fair rules and regulations on the state level. TACA acts as the voice for coaches, athletes, and parents to TSSAA. TSSAA is the governing association for Tennessee high school sports. We can only do all of these things if we have the funds.
The Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association can only function due to the generous charitable donations and support from individuals and corporations such as you. The contributions that TACA receives will go to support, nearly 100,000 student athletes, and over 5,000 Tennessee High School coaches, with all major and minor sports, championship games/events and activities, such as clinics and drug seminars. TACA's existence is essential for professional development of our coaches, strengthening self awareness, education, health, safety and fitness of our students.
Thank you,
On behalf of ALL Tennessee Coaches & Student Athletes
